RAIA’s Gold Medal for Architecture goes offshore

Perth-born and raised, Singaporean-based architect known for his buildings around the world, and particularly in South-East Asia, Kerry Hill, has won Australia’s most prestigious architecture prize - the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Gold Medal for Architecture. His international reputation is such that his practice has designed and built or is currently working on projects in Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Taiwan, Turkey, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Australia and Japan. He is a previous recipient of the prestigious Kenneth F. Brown Asia Pacific Culture and Architecture Design Award in 1995, and the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2001 for The Datai in Pulau Langkawi in Malaysia. Read the rest of this entry »





Amos Latteier

Amos Latteier is pretty out there but I think there’s a lot we can learn about our world through Amos’s questioning and experimentation. He creates work that explores the lighter side of technology and the way we use it. He pokes fun at everything it seems, and prosthetic limbs even get a go in his books. His work examines the subtleties of DIY culture and the potential “emotionalâ€? impact of simple devices.
