Chippendale is the place to spot the up and coming galleries. Esa Jaske Gallery is currently exhibiting two fabulous exhibitions, Species, by Joachim Froese and Parapraxes, by Eva Marosy-Weide.

Froese uses discarded toy figurines and sugar cubes to assemble his black and white series to reconstruct Renaissance paintings and biblical scenes. These are very amusing. He has gone to great effort to depict the flagellation of christ, the last supper, the expulsion from paradise and many more memorable moments from the bible.

Marosy-Weide on the other hand, produces less obvious imagery. Her works are perhaps the depiction of an internal mental state or perhaps a landscape. These drawn images are beautifully executed and like a Rochard test, they can suggest any number of possibilities.
