Bloody hell, where am I?

This poster was discussed in a class I attended earlier this week (well – education is a lifelong experience). The most objectionable thing for me is stereotypification of being Australian – we’re just a bunch of ocker’s, and I admit to using the language however it is the subscription to this doctrine that reflects a lack of identifiable multiculturalism that is objectionable.

But then again who takes advertising seriously anyway? Perhaps we should care so this doesn’t continue to happen, but what are our alternatives, what differentiates us from the rest of the world? I’m sure there are other interpretations to our self-representation.

By the way – the campaign appears to be working as 45,000 foreigners have visited the site.
