Hella Jongerius, Vitra and the Bouroullecs @ salone internazionale 2006

They're all at Salone internazionale del mobile where Hella Jongerius features her latest – the Worker chair along with Polder and the Grip and Handles cushions.

In an earlier post I made mention of Alice Rawsthorn's recent doubt in Vitra's production of Jongerius's Polder lounge however I disagree. Jongerius's sensibility has had an impact on a number of designers including Patricia Urquoila (visiting Sydney later this year – so keep your ears to the ground).

The photograph shows the Worker Chair with Polder in the background. We also see the Grip and Handles cushions in the second image.

I think these are great additions to any room. I'm into creating floor islands and lounging on the floor – it's all about relaxation, putting your feet up and resting rather than sitting stiffly after a day on the computer. I'm sure you all know where I'm at. I'll post some pictures on these soon. In the meantime enjoy these.

Thanks for the link – it’s great to see so many Australians on your site too. I recommend the story on living in Italy as well. Love the site and will return – ps I live not so far from Manna from Heaven and was sad to see their logo painted out recently. I’m hoping they’re just freshening the paint work so will be looking out to see the return of one of my favourite graphics.

They moved. maybe to Leichardt (I can’t spell in “Australian!!”) in February to a place that was lots bigger. There should be a forwarding address though…check on http://www.mannafromheaven.com.au to see what their new address is! – 3LC
