Bollywood Dreams

On show at the Immigration Museum, Melbourne is this wonderful display of photographs that takes a look at the largest film industry in the world – Bollywood. Including original photographs by New Yorker Jonathan Torgovnik and behind the scenes documentary footage, Bollywood Dreams explores the power of cinema in India as both entertainment and social phenomenon.

I believe this one will come to Sydney and show at the Powerhouse Museum (rumour has it), if so I recommend the screening of some of my favuorite Bollywood films including Main Hoon Na directed by Farah Khan, Devdas, Parineeta , Rang de Basanti and Lagaan to name a few.

As I absolutely love all things Indian, I’m looking forward to this one coming to Sydney.
