Powerhouse Museum Digital Media Projects

I had mentioned in the previous post that the Powerhouse Museum will be launching its third blog in conjunction with Sydney Design 2006. This will in fact be its fourth blog/ design portal called Design Hub – stay tuned for more information as it comes to light. Here’s a list of the Museum’s current blogs:

Walking the Wall

Sydney Observatory

The new blog/ portal promises to be a designed delight with interviews and feature stories as well as information about Museum collection, initiatives and programing in the field. It will be a design resource as well as the source of interesting tit bits on the newest and latest in international and local scene news.

In the meantime I will draw your attention to the Powerhouse Musuem OPAC 2.0 project that allows you to view its collection database of 61,787 objects collected from 1880 to the present day and 25,000 images. This is not the entire collection and the database is a work in progress to be added to on an on-going basis.

A separate location has been developed for the Museum’s swatchbook collection
