Apparently these Australian designed coffins by Life Art are big in Hong Kong and in due time we hope these concerns will extend to other parts of the world including those over populated regions.

Another solution has been offered by Bios

Unlike Karim Rashid the solution offered by both organisations is to quietly allow the deceased to blend into the environment in the true sense of the word whereas Karim’s solution allows you to preserve yourself and ‘stand out’ for the lifetime of the pod. We are talking 600 -700 years. Not much of a solution.

Nice. But I’m much rather go out in a blazing ball of fire Hindu style. Wrap me up and place me on a pile of tinder…..no suttee allowed. A nice red and idle chatter about shopping is all that’s needed.

I agree, otherwise Bios alternative resonates with me – lets help a tree grow.

I’d like to choose the image for my box prior to cremation and then be placed in a Bios container….it appeals to my consumerist right to choose. But hold on a second, why would the picture matter if you can’t be there anyway. Lets be practical – a cardboard box would suffice – preferably recycled material, the rest could be snorted Kieth Richards style…..
